Grow your email list w/ your LinkedIn connections
Idea: Invite your current connections to support your product venture by joining your email list.
Details: If you're trying to build your email list from scratch, start by asking your current connections who might be interested in what you're marketing. This includes friends, colleagues, and possibly even family. LinkedIn makes it super easy for you to export your current connections, which provides you with their contact details. You can then reach out to ask for their participation.
To get started:
- Head over to the "Settings & Privacy" section of your LinkedIn homepage
- Under the "Account" section, scroll down until you see "Getting an archive of your data" & click "Change"
- Choose the format you prefer and click "Request archive"
Within about 10 minutes, you'll receive an email containing your file of connections that you can immediately download. Now, before you jump the gun, it's important to understand that you can't just add them to your email marketing platform without their permission due to the fact that this is technically a cold outreach. However, you can email them directly (from your personal email) to inform them of your brand, what your mission is, and ask them to support you by joining your list.
